WHAT IS AMERICAN CULTURE?

[American Culture] What is American Culture? To answer that American Culture isn't singular in any shape or form. American Culture is the cumulation of sampling and the melting pot of the values, norms, and social expectations that Black, Hispanic, Irish, Asian, immigrants imported into America when they came here. Other nationalities like the French, Italians, Spaniards, Nordics, as well as Russian, Ukrainian and West, East and South Asians also play a major part into what the world sees now as American Culture.
While it is true that America, like most nations, is having its fair share of difficulties at this time, it should be understood that all of the ethnicities and nationalities that make up America are still finding ways to be positive and that’s something to be commended. Some of the ways that Americans stay positive during these times is through fashion, arts and entertainments, music and of course food!
Just as nations all over the world love American fashion, American sports, American music and American entertainment; Americans also love Asian cuisine and Asian fashion, Mexican food and have a deep appreciation of Mexican culture despite issues along the southern border, and when it comes to India, Americans absolutely love Indian food and admire the Indian perspective when it comes to business, textiles, and of course Bollywood.
Outside the 4th of July which is our Independence Day as a nation from Britain, we also like to celebrate the Indian Festival of Lights known as Diwali (October 18th - October 23rd) and the Navaratri (September 22nd - October 2nd). We also enjoy celebrating Cinco de Mayo (5th of May) and Carnival, and of course we love Asian celebrations such as the Chinese New Year and the Spring Festival (January - February) just to name a couple. Also, in America we also have monthly celebrations such as Black History month (February 1st- February 28th), Hispanic Heritage Month September 15th – October 15th, and Hindu Heritage Month October 1st-oct 31st.
Despite the stereotypes about Americans who display either their ignorance and/or disregard for the norms and customs of people of other nations, we want you to know and understand that that is a very small minority of Americans and should not be seen as the vast majority of Americans. When the American government isn’t involved and shoves political agendas down the throats of Americans, Americans love and admire foreign cultures and people of other walks of life more than you could ever know.
We at American Now Network would like for you to know just as much as we as Americans have an influence on you and your culture, you most definitely have a great influence on American Culture as well because without you culturally, there would be no us as American was born, developed, and maintained by immigrants from all over the world. American Culture is your culture.
