[Houston Dynamo Portland Timbers] With the Houston Dynamo winning Saturday's match against the Portland Timbers, it seemed to have a profound effect on the fans of Houston Dynamo. The first and only goal of the match was scored by Ezequiel Ponce of the Dynamos at the 44th minute of the match just before the halftime mark. With the Houston Dynamo leading in nearly all categories, it could still be considered a close game between both teams.

 

Looking at the key stats, the Houston Dynamo took a total of 21 shots with 7 shots landing on target, while the Portland Timbers took a total of 7 shots with 3 shots falling on target. With Houston taking 21 shots, it served as an indicator that the Dynamo played a more aggressive game on the pitch. Playing an aggressive game, the Houston Dynamo had possession of the ball 55% of the time compared to the Portland Timbers having possession of the ball 45% of the time.

 

The Portland Timbers completed 417 successful passes with a pass accuracy rate of 88%. In contrast, the Houston Dynamo executed 483 successful passes with a pass accuracy rate of 90%. The Portland Timbers were called offsides 3 times; the Houston Dynamo had no calls for being offsides. With both teams playing aggressively on the pitch, it led to the Houston Dynamo being issued 5 yellow cards while the Portland Timbers acquired 2. No red cards were issued to either team. The Portland Timbers also took 4 corners while the Houston Dynamos took a grand total of 11 corners. with 2 matches left in the season, one home match against San Diego on October 4th and their last match being an away match against Kansas City. This season proved a tough season for the Houston Dynamo; and this is especially true with all the new changes to the team’s roster and pressure from the fans who have demanded that the Houston Dynamo win more games.
